BMW i8 Spyder Concept to debut in January
BMW i8 has been in production since 2014. By November 2015, 6,300 units of the vehicle have been sold worldwide. The plug-in hybrid sports car has so far been rather well received, which perhaps is the reason why BMW has just announced that a new BMW i8 Spyder concept will be revealed during the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in January.
A series of images have been released by the company, teasing the vehicle ahead of its January reveal. Although the concept still resembles the production i8, it features a number of differences. A large windscreen colour display can now be found on the passenger side of the car, facing the driver.
The vehicle is believed to be nearly production ready, which is great news for fans of the brand. If you have been following the news on the vehicle, you probably are aware of the many difficulties it faced since it was first unveiled back in 2012. The car proved to be a major challenge to its engineers, which is why we couldn’t be more excited that it’s finally all coming together.
Since the Consumer Electronics Show is technology-focused, it is believed the focus will be on i8’s technology rather that its appearance or the production model.
We can’t wait to see what BMW has in store for us. Just looking at pictures of the new BMW i8 Spyder concept gets one extremely excited about the vehicle. We’ll find out in January whether the car will live up to the expectations or not.
Let us know if you’re excited about the vehicle or not and if you enjoyed this post check out the rest of our blog and share it with your friends.
